Cubarama 360° immersive video installation at The Georgette 150th

360° immersive video · four-wall projection

Cubarama

Cubarama turns a room into the coast. Four walls of projected video — water, rock, and sky from Calgardup Bay, Redgate Beach, and Isaac Rock — surround the visitor completely. There is no frame and no edge: the horizon is everywhere.

At the exhibition

You enter a room and the room becomes the coast. Four walls of projected video — the water, the rock, the sky at Calgardup Bay, Redgate Beach, Isaac Rock — surround you completely. There is no frame. There is no edge. The horizon is everywhere.

Cubarama is a four-wall 360° video installation. The footage was shot on location at the exhibition sites. Standing at the centre of the room, you are standing at the centre of the place where the Georgette went down. The sound is the sound of the coast — wind, water, the particular silence of remote beaches in the early morning. You can stay as long as you like.

How it works

Visitors enter a dedicated room configured for continuous four-wall projection. Footage shot on location at the Georgette exhibition sites plays as a looping immersive environment, with coastal sound — wind, water, and the quiet of remote beaches.

There is no headset and no controller. People stand, move, or sit as they like. The experience is open access during exhibition hours: enter and leave freely, with room capacity managed by venue staff.

Making that four-wall picture possible requires Cuborama Studio — purpose-built software that creates and synchronises the four-wall video in the first place. Ordinary video editors are not designed for this format; Cuborama Studio is the authoring tool that turns source footage into a continuous surround programme for the room.

Technology

  • Four synchronised projection surfaces (or equivalent display walls) forming a closed room.
  • Multi-channel video playback with spatial audio suited to an immersive coastal soundtrack.
  • Cuborama Studio — the required software that creates the four-wall video content and prepares it for synchronised playback.
  • Designed for continuous public operation during gallery opening hours.

For galleries and museums

Cubarama is suited to museums, galleries, and cultural venues that want an immersive coastal or site-specific environment without VR headsets or one-visitor-at-a-time hardware.

The Georgette programme demonstrates a complete visitor-facing installation; the underlying approach — four-wall video authored in Cuborama Studio, location-shot material, and room-scale immersion — can be adapted to other collections, places, or narratives.

Institutions can enquire about licensing the Georgette Cubarama experience, commissioning a site-specific Cubarama programme, or discussing acquisition / loan of Cuborama Studio together with the playback configuration.

  • License the Georgette Cubarama experience for a fixed exhibition period
  • Commission a Cubarama programme built from your own footage or collection using Cuborama Studio
  • Discuss purchase or loan of Cuborama Studio and the playback configuration

What a venue needs

  • Cuborama Studio — the software that creates the four-wall video content. Without it, the surround programme cannot be authored for this format.
  • A light-controlled room large enough for visitors to stand comfortably at the centre.
  • Four projection or display walls with synchronised playback and adequate throw / brightness for ambient gallery conditions.
  • Multi-channel audio; seating optional.
  • Staffing for capacity and accessibility; wheelchair users can experience the projected environment without physical interaction.
